    There has been a great renewal of interest in Celtic history, religion, art, design and legend  
recently  both on television and in journal articles.  A notable aspect of the Celtic tradition has been the continuity and close similarity of the symbolic expressions used in the Celtic cultures whether in Scotland, Ireland and Wales or other  Celtic regions (Isle of man, Cornwall, Brittany).  These Celtic symbols have influenced the ornamental design of jewellery, architectural decoration (such as
mosaics), and artistic expression in Celtic inspired paintings.

  Clare Bonner, from her background in art, design and strong archeological interest in Celtic artefacts, and skillfully using the many mythological, religious and historical threads describing the origin and evolution of Celtic symbols and their more recent effect on artistic expression and design, has woven an authoritative tapestry of the development of Celtic symbolism which provides a fascinating story of the Celtic Symbols.
